HEALTH ECONOMIST, DIVISION OF HEALTH SERVICES MANAGEMENT AND POLICY

The Ohio State University College of Public Health

The Division of Health Services Management and Policy at The Ohio State University College of Public Health seeks candidates to fill a tenure-track faculty position, with a specialization in health economics. Candidates must possess a Ph.D. or equivalent degree. At least 3 years of research and teaching experience is preferred, along with a record of peer-reviewed publications and external funding. The faculty rank for this position is open.

The Division of Health Services Management and Policy’s Master of Health Administration program is ranked in the top 12 by U.S. News & World Report. Our faculty members are known for their excellence in teaching and their significant research accomplishments in the areas of health services research, health management, and health care policy. The Division is growing dramatically as part of the College of Public Health’s 5-year strategic expansion plan. We are particularly interested in faculty who will contribute immediately to the growth of our doctoral degree programs in health services research, and health management and policy research.

The College and the University

The School of Public Health was established in 1995 as part of the College of Medicine. The school separated from the College of Medicine in 2004. Over the last three years, the School of Public Health significantly increased the size of its faculty and tripled its research funding. In 2007, The Ohio State University Board of Trustees elevated the School to the College of Public Health, the first new college at Ohio State in 23 years. The College is fully accredited by the Council on Education for Public Health.

Ohio State's College of Public Health has been the first and only accredited school of public health in the state of Ohio. It currently offers master's degrees in professional practice as well as research and doctoral degrees. The specializations within the college include biostatistics, epidemiology, health behavior and health promotion, environmental health sciences, health services management and policy, veterinary public health, and an emerging emphasis on clinical investigations. The College also offers an undergraduate minor and is developing an undergraduate major. The College provides extensive service to the community through its Office of Workforce Development that includes the Ohio Center for Public Health Preparedness and the collaborative Pennsylvania-Ohio Public Health Training Center.
